Aramis White Label Shiraz 2021
TASTING NOTE
This White Label Shiraz from our family vineyard is an elegant example of McLaren Vale’s flagship varietal. Dark crimson with a purple hue, it has a nose of spiced plum, fresh black cherry and blackcurrant fruit aromas, along with hints of vanilla, earthy toasted spice and cocoa. The palate is round, with an abundance of fresh dark berry fruit characters, warm spice, and balanced oak, creating a fruit-driven Shiraz with soft, silky tannins and a good persistence of flavour.
THE VINEYARDS
All fruit for our White Label reds comes from a stunning 64-acre vineyard, located in the southern foothills of the McLaren Vale region. Its unique position, just 2km away from the coast of the Gulf of St Vincent, allows the vines to benefit from a maritime climate with cooling afternoon sea breezes coming in from the south-west. These breezes allow our fruit to ripen perfectly, producing elegant wines that display balanced rich, primary fruit flavours, and the characteristic earthiness and minerality of the region.
WINEMAKING NOTES
Harvested when flavour ripe and fermented on skins for a period of seven days, with twice daily gentle pump-overs to extract flavour and tannins. Part matured in French oak barrels for a period of nine months to give some oak influence and soften tannins with the remainder matured in stainless steel tanks to create a fresh and juicy style of Shiraz ready to be bottled and consumed while youthful and vibrant.
