A well-balanced medium-bodied Chardonnay showing bright stone fruit, rockmelon and butterscotch on the nose. Succulent fruit-forward flavours and creamy texture lead on to a silky finish.
The Sherwood Estate 2020 Chardonnay was produced from selected parcels of fruit grown on our Stirling and Glasnevin vineyards in Waipara, North Canterbury. The fruit was machine harvested, in excellent condition, and left on skins for a short period. The fruit was gently pressed then racked to barrel (75%) and stainless tanks (25%) for indigenous fermentation and 6 months lees aging. The parcels were then blended together, lightly fined and filtered prior to bottling.
